Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I to join the surgical team in New Jersey. The role supports the surgeon and RN before, during, and after operations, scrubbing across multiple service lines with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position is full-time with an evening shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) and alternating weekends/holidays. Pay ranges from $31.41 to $38.42 per hour, with benefits and retirement plans offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in an OR setting.
• Must scrub across service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to call and multitask.
• Must be flexible and able to work independently.

• Deliver patient care as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the RN.
• Assist surgeon and RN before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare and scrub for procedures across designated service lines.

Shift: Evening
Pay Range: $31.41- $38.42per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications

• Required:HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 - 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
