Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I in Jersey City to support the operating room team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will scrub for multiple service lines, assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery, and maintain strong communication with surgeons and staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an OR Technician program, and NBSTSA as well as BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent; Completion of an OR Technician training program; 2–3 years of experience; Must scrub multiple service lines including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Must be able to make calls, be flexible, multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Member of the surgical team, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.
• Provide support across OR service lines and assist the surgeon and RN as needed.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 - 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements

• 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
