Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I at Jersey City Medical Center to join the operating room team. Under the RN, you assist the surgeon, prepare instruments, and support patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an OR tech program, 2–3 years experience, NBSTSA certification, and current BLS. Shift: 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, full-time with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an OR technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Experience scrubbing across multiple service lines (robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, orthopedics, trauma).

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team under RN direction.
• Deliver patient care before, during and after surgery.
• Maintain clear communication with surgeon and staff.
• Maintain sterile technique and instrument counts.

Pay Range: $31.41- $38.42per hour

Pay Transparency:

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
