Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Perioperative Attendant to support surgical teams by preparing OR suites, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring supplies are stocked for procedures. The role operates under RN guidance in a busy perioperative setting.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma and has 1 year of perioperative experience; BLS is preferred before direct patient care. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing: BLS Basic Life Support preferred at hire (must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• Experience: One-year perioperative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily set-up of surgical suites and maintains room turnover between cases.
• Assists with patient positioning, lifting and transfers; performs sterile holds as needed.
• Restocks and maintains supplies and linens for surgery/anesthesia; reports shortages to supervisor.
• Sets up equipment and positioning devices; reports broken/missing equipment.
• Transports patients between departments; procures clean beds and stretchers as needed.
• Responds to requests including errands and item retrieval.
• Performs patient POCT as needed and daily quality control on POCT devices.
