Job summary

AtlantiCare in New Jersey seeks an Operating Room Assistant Technician to support the surgical team under the RN. You will assist with patient positioning, sterile setup, and specimen collection, delivering care promptly while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork.

The role requires a high school diploma, ARMC surgical tech program completion, and BLS certification; proficiency in clinical applications is preferred and training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of surgical technician assistant program.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team during procedures under RN direction.
• Provide direct patient care as retractor/heart holder during surgery.
• Arrange sterile setup, adjust lights, clean OR, skin prep.
• Move and position patient as directed by RN; transport patients/equipment.
• Assist with personal care needs; participate in plan of care.
• Communicate observations and data to Clinical Associate.
• Collect test specimens as directed and document care activities.
