Job summary

Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown, Wisconsin seeks a Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) to provide direct and comprehensive perioperative nursing care in an acute care hospital setting. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required within facility policy.
• ACLS certification required within facility policy.
• PALS certification required within timeframe specified by facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient-centered nursing care based on established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with policy.
• Documents all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately.
• Monitors, evaluates, and communicates patient condition to healthcare team, patient, and family.
• Coordinates and collaborates with surgical and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Participates in patient transfer, discharge, and referrals as needed.
• Educates patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients throughout the surgical experience.
