Job summary

Watertown Regional Medical Center, an acute-care hospital in southeastern Wisconsin and part of ScionHealth, is seeking a Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) to provide direct, perioperative nursing care for surgical patients.

You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, administer meds per policy, document care accurately, educate patients and families, and ensure safety and quality throughout the perioperative process for all ages.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• RN license in state of practice; BLS/ACLS/PALS required per facility policy.
• Ability to work in high‑stress perioperative environment and provide patient education.
• Competency with EMR and healthcare technologies.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient-centered nursing care per standards of care and nursing process.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Documents all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately.
• Monitors, evaluates, and communicates patient condition to care team and family.
• Coordinates with surgical and interdisciplinary teams for optimal care.

Job Summary

• The Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients within an acute care hospital setting
• Utilizing the nursing process, the RN-Surgery assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes
• This role supports surgical interventions across all age groups and ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the perioperative process

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within timeframe specified in facility policy)

Experience

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Previous perioperative or surgical services experience strongly preferred
