Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The role emphasizes evidence-based nursing practices, clear communication with the care team, and accurate medication administration with advanced barcode systems.

Ideal candidates hold a New Jersey nursing license, BLS/CPR, and have 6 months of nursing experience or participate in the Nurse Residency program.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• OR nursing experience preferred.
• CVOR experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Motivated team member responsible for scrubbing and circulating on variety of surgical cases in busy OR department.
• Must be self-starter who works well independently.
• Time management and prioritizing skills a must.
• Commitment to learning, patient focus, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and health care team regarding status and plans.
• Medication administration with bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Point-of-Care electronic documentation of assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluation.
• Patient and family centered education to optimize health and disease management.
• Multidisciplinary discharge planning ensuring safe transition of care.
