Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Jersey Shore University Medical Center location. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based nursing care, communicating with the care team, and ensuring safe medication administration with advanced bar-scanning technology.

Ideal candidates hold a New Jersey RN license and BLS/CPR; 6 months of nursing experience or Nurse Residency program participation is required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• TNCC preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong accountability, teamwork, ongoing education, and patient-focused care are required.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and health-care team regarding patient status, care rendered, and treatment plans.
• Medication administration utilizing bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery of medications.
• Ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation of patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations.
• Patient and family-centered education to optimize health, wellness, and disease management.
• Multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
