Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH seeks an Operating Room Assistant to provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with patient positioning, maintain sterile technique, and support room turnover in a busy OR environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalency required.
• Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal, verbal and written communication; math computation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with placing patient in designated surgical position (e.g. supine, prone, lateral, lithotomy).
• Monitor positioning and traction devices as appropriate.
• Verifies integrity of sterile packaging and sterilization indicators.
• Open sterile supplies and instruments using aseptic technique.
• Assists with room turnover.
• Adheres to aseptic technique principles.
• Maintains OR supply inventory and linen.
• All other duties as assigned.
