Job summary

Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital in Florida is seeking a Perioperative Control Desk Liaison in the LMH Surgery department for a full-time, first-shift role. A BSN is required, with at least two years in the operating room or PACU to ensure smooth coordination of surgical cases.

You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multiple departments to maintain case flow, schedule after-hours cases, and orient new staff to the control desk, while upholding patient care standards and hospital

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Two years current operating room experience or two years PACU experience.
• Current Florida RN license.

Responsibilities

• Ensures incident reports are initiated and completed for all unusual circumstances or incidents per facility guidelines.
• Maintains open line of communication with surgeons, anesthesia, team members, and management.
• Maintains communication between Sterile Processing/Materials Management, Guest Services, Admitting, Anesthesia, PreOP (PACU) and other departments as required.
• Schedules after hours and add on cases in an accurate and timely manner, notifying all applicable departments and team members appropriately (Surgery).
• Orients new clinical team members in the functions and role of the control desk.
• Coordinates patient care with multi-disciplinary departments to maintain a consistent level of patient care.
• Acts as resource person, particularly on off shifts, answering or obtaining technical answers to questions regarding cases.
