Job summary

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando, FL seeks a Perioperative Control Desk Liaison to coordinate OR scheduling and ensure timely, efficient patient care.

This role focuses on cross‑department communication, staff orientation, and after‑hours case scheduling within the Women Surgery Unit; requires OR experience, a BSN within 36 months, and Florida RN license; position is 36 hours per week, first shift.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• BSN within 36 months of placement.
• Current Florida nursing license.
• Maintains BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.
• Two years operating room experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and completes incident reports for unusual circumstances per facility guidelines.
• Maintains excellent customer service and communication with surgeons, anesthesia, and management.
• Keeps open communication across Surgery, PreOP, PACU, and other departments during shifts.
• Collaborates with nurse managers to ensure staff competency.
• Schedules after hours and add-on cases accurately and timely, notifying relevant departments.
• Orients new clinical team members on the control desk role.
• Coordinates patient care with multi-disciplinary departments to maintain consistent care.
