Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• Minimum two years nursing experience preferred.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• BSN is required.
• RN candidates must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications may be required within the department.

Responsibilities

• Supports management to improve nursing practice and delivery of care.
• Assists with interviewing, selection, and supervision of nursing staff.
• Facilitates regular communications via staff meetings and huddles.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state laws and policies.
• Rounds on patients, staff, and physicians to assess satisfaction and operations.
• Delegates care tasks to appropriate healthcare workers per policy.
• Identifies outcomes to guide continuity of care and department operations.
• Evaluates progress and disseminates information to the team.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, and administers medications.
• Coordinates patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity.
