Job summary

UC Irvine's Department of Surgery seeks a Nurse Practitioner 2 to provide inpatient care for surgical patients at a new hospital in Irvine, CA. The role requires advanced clinical judgment, independent practice within a team, and coordination across surgical specialties.

Responsibilities include rounds, consults, perioperative planning, ordering diagnostics, and collaborating with surgeons, residents, and staff.

Qualifications

Must complete an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
Current, active, unrestricted California RN license.
Current, active, unrestricted California NP license.
Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
NP National Board Certification (AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG).
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
One or more years of experience supporting setting and patient population.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all inpatient care of surgical patients.
Inpatient care across colorectal, ENT, general, gynecology, hand, plastic, oncologic, thoracic, urology, vascular surgery.
Participate in rounds and hand-offs with surgical teams.
Triage calls, review critical labs, and monitor patient progress.
Collaborate with surgeons, residents, and medical staff; assist in OR as needed.
