Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio in Columbus is seeking a Medical Assistant, Surgical Services to join our East Columbus Surgical Center full-time (37.5 hours per week). This role provides clinical, administrative, and financial support to patients receiving procedural reproductive healthcare.

The Medical Assistant supports patients through abortion-care, prepares them for care, assists with procedures, performs lab services, maintains records, and helps ensure visits move safely and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and provide accurate information about services, funding resources, and what to expect during their visit.
• Prepare patients for care and assist clinicians during abortion procedures.
• Provide appropriate patient education, information, forms, and referrals.
• Conduct pregnancy testing and provide related information and referrals.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, including blood and urine samples.
• Perform venipuncture within the scope of your training, certification, or licensure.
• Prepare procedure and examination rooms and maintain appropriate supplies, cleanliness, and inventory.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and approach sensitive healthcare matters with compassion and without judgment.
