Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Surgical General Surgery pathway in the Northern Westchester area. The role supports patient assessment, phlebotomy, and procedure prep in a fast-paced multi-office setting.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with travel required between Cortlandt Manor, Cold Spring, Ossining. On-site work is required; commutable distance is expected of all employees.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a surgical setting.
• High School diploma or GED; certification preferred for advanced roles.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient’s condition and report abnormal findings to staff; document in patient records.
• Measure and record height/weight; perform routine vision/hearing tests and take vitals (pulse, BP).
• Draw blood or perform finger sticks and obtain specimens as requested.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic technique and maintain a sterile field.
• Utilize skills in positioning, wound care, and dressings.
• Maintain stock for examination and blood drawing rooms and related forms.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
