Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant/Technician for the Cardiology division. The role supports patient care duties in a fast-paced surgical practice with on-site responsibilities in Cortlandt Manor.

Expected hours are Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with potential travel to other Hudson Valley Medical Group locations as needed. Qualifications include 1+ year MA experience (preferably surgical), a high school diploma or GED, and accreditation with a Medical Associate

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a surgical setting.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Associate Program; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient’s condition and report abnormal findings to staff nurse with documentation in patient records.
• Measure height/weight, perform routine vision and hearing exams, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
• Draw blood from patients or perform finger sticks and collect other specimens as requested by physician or nurse.
• Perform EKGs.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles and maintain sterile field.
• Apply positioning, wound care, and dressings as needed.
• Maintain stock in examination and phlebotomy rooms and with clinical forms.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
