Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant onsite in Paramus. Shifts run 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, at least three times a month, supporting clinical teams and patients across the exam workflow.

You will escort patients, obtain vital signs, assist in pre-surgical screening, venipuncture, EKGs, and specimen handling, while ensuring a courteous, efficient clinical environment. BLS and CMA certification are required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, and assist with data collection.
• Support pre-surgical screening, venipuncture, EKGs, and specimen preparation.
• Maintain organized, professional environment and deliver excellent patient service.
• Assist physicians with treatments, cast removal, sutures/staples, and brace application.
