NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant - Technician for the Medical Surgical – Urology team in Cortlandt Manor, NY. This full-time, 40-hour week role is on-site at 1985 Crompond Road with 8:00am–6:00pm shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include observing patients, recording vital signs, drawing blood, assisting with diagnostic procedures, maintaining supplies, and documenting in patient records.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a surgical setting.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Observe patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to staff nurse and records appropriate documentation in patient’s records.
• Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
• Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as requested by physician or registered nurse.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
• Use technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings.
• Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
• Must be willing to travel/provide coverage across the various Hudson Valley Medical Group locations as needed (Cortlandt Manor, Croton-On-Hudson, Cold Springs).
