Job summary

Quincy Medical Group in Quincy, IL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Surgery & GI to support preoperative assessments, patient education, and post-procedure recovery in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will collaborate with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient care and optimal patient outcomes, while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• CPR certification required
• ACLS certification preferred or required within hire timeframe
• Experience in surgery, GI, PACU, pre-/post-op, or procedural nursing preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and pre-procedure patient assessments
• Prepare patients for surgery and GI procedures with education
• Initiate and manage IV access and administer medications within scope
• Monitor vitals, pain, and recovery progress; communicate changes to team
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge education
• Document assessments and discharge instructions in EMR
