The position requires discretion with protected health information, proficiency with standard computer systems, and ability to manage admissions, transfers, and bed tracking. Weekend and holiday coverage are rotating responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills for standard software.
• Ability to read and interpret numbers and forms.
• Strong spelling and writing abilities.

Responsabilités

• Prepares patients charts, ensuring forms are available and relevant patient information is ready for use or review daily.
• Assembles charts for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Utilizes computer systems to process physician orders for patient information.
• Uses bedtracking systems to support timely patient flow.
• Answers telephones and transmits messages to unit staff.
• Responds to queries from physicians, nursing staff, and visitors while protecting patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Inventories office supplies and orders new supplies to maintain standard levels.
• Follows procedures related to access to non-controlled medications (IV solutions, vaccines) when granted access.
