Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Surgical ICU to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and to coordinate nursing functions during shifts. The CNC will work with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate care, serving as a resource and role model for staff.

The role involves admissions/discharges, staff scheduling, staff development, and collaboration across departments to improve outcomes and engagement.

Qualifications

• RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Experience in surgical ICU coordination or similar leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge to ensure throughput and high-quality care.
• Collaborate with management to assess quality of patient care services.
• Coordinate with managers to foster teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Support patient-first philosophy and service recovery when needed.
• Help implement nursing strategies (staff rounding, hourly rounds) to engage staff.
• Provide recommendations on interviewing, selection and training of new staff.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs.
• Support inventory control and management of supplies/equipment.
