Job summary

The Surgery Partners Brand in Addison, TX is seeking a registered nurse to act as a patient advocate on the surgical floor, including spine and joint care. You will assess needs, collaborate with the health care team, and support the facility’s philosophy and goals.

Responsibilities include ongoing data collection, planning and implementing patient care, documenting in the medical record, and ensuring safety and comfort while delivering evidence-based nursing.

Qualifications

• Texas RN licensure required.
• BLS certification; ACLS certification or completed within 3 months.
• Minimum of two years' surgical floor experience with spines and joints.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Formulates a goal directed plan of care based on nursing diagnoses and outcomes.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled manner to reach patient outcomes.
• Establishes priorities of patient care based on needs and resources.
• Acts in emergencies following protocols, communicates with the team, and documents events.
• Maintains knowledge in medical/surgical patient care, medications, labs, safety and legal issues.
• Uses sound problem solving for decision making.
• Documents on the floor and in the patient record timely and accurately.
• Works as part of a team delivering patient care.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS certification and participates in mandatory in-services.
