Job summary

This role requires Texas RN licensure, BLS, ACLS (or completion within 3 months), and at least two years on a surgical floor with spine and joint experience. You will perform ongoing assessments, plan patient care, respond to emergencies, document actions, and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Texas RN licensure is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification or completion within 3 months of hire date.
• Minimum of two years’ staff nurse experience on a surgical floor with spine and joint cases.

Responsibilities

• Performs ongoing assessments focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Develops goal-directed care plans based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
• Delivers care using nursing processes to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Prioritizes patient care based on needs and available resources.
• Responds to emergencies following established protocols and documents events.
• Maintains knowledge of medical/surgical care, pain management, medications, labs, safety, and emergencies.
• Demonstrates problem identification and resolution for sound decision making.
• Documents care on the floor and in patient records timely and concisely.
• Works as part of a team to deliver patient care.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Adapts to new ideas and approaches.
• Treats all patients with respect and upholds Patient Rights policy.
• Follows physician orders professionally and is willing to assist with other duties.
