Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program is required.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 2–4 years of surgical tech experience preferred; 1–2 years first assist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position patient for surgery and assist with draping.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during operations.
• Control bleeding using sponges, clamps, and sutures as directed.
• Close incisions and apply dressings post-procedure.
• Maintain sterile field and prepare room for next case.
