AP Health in St. Louis, Missouri seeks an experienced Physician Assistant/Surgical Assistant to join our private practice of advanced providers.

This is a surgical-only role with no clinic time, requiring excellence in perioperative care and teamwork in a fast-paced OR. The successful candidate will have 2+ years of multi-specialty surgical first assistant experience ( spine), Missouri license, NCCPA certification, and current BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist in multiple specialties (must have experience in spine surgery).
• Current Missouri State License (will help obtain if relocating).
• Board certified by NCCPA.
• Active BLS and ACLS.
• Comprehensive and flexible medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
• Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
• Rotating on-call responsibilities
