Job summary

AP Health, located in St. Louis, MO, is looking for a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our surgical team. This role is focused solely on orthopedic surgery, with no clinic time or travel required.

Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience as a surgical first assistant, a current MO state license, and be board certified by NCCPA. AP Health is a private practice comprised of advanced practice providers. We provide perioperative services to hospitals, surgeons, and surgery centers.

We are seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in the greater St. Louis, MO area.

This is a surgical-only position with no clinic time. It is not a travel, locum, placement, or per diem position.

Required experience: at least 2+ years in orthopedic surgery as a surgical first assistant.

What will you do:

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
• Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Perform comprehensive and problem‑focused histories and physical examinations
• Rotating on‑call responsibilities

What do you need:

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist in orthopedic surgery
• Current MO State License
• Board certified by NCCPA
• Active BLS and ACLS
