Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician First Assistant to join our Operating Room team. You will assist in the treatment and care of patients, perform First Assistant duties under the surgeon, and ensure patient safety and adherence to standards of practice.

Responsibilities include setup and turnover of surgical cases, anticipating intra-operative needs, and assisting with core surgical services under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Surgical Technician First Assist (CSFA) or Certified First Assistant (CFA)
• Current CPR certification
• Requires at least three years experience as a Surgical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates indepth knowledge of the established standards for patient care.
• Serves as a clinical resource regarding standards of practice.
• Performs duties of the Surgical Technician or other duties as needed when not being utilized as a First Assistant.
• Proficient in setup and turnover of surgical cases and efficient room turnover times.
• Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the surgeon's intra-operative needs.
• Assists with delegated circulating duties under RN supervision.
