Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of continuous, documented surgical technologist practice and eligible for CSTFA or SA-C certification.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Surgical First Assistant or Surgical Assistant certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Position the patient per surgeon's instructions.
• Use standard and specialized equipment to aid patient positioning.
• Provide visualization of the operative site to the surgeon using retractors, sponges, and other techniques.
• Assist with hemostasis and exposure to enable safe operation.
• Perform duties as a surgical technician across ambulatory surgery center specialties.
• Assist with closure of body planes using sutures and staples.
• Apply wound dressings appropriately.
• Assist with patient transport to and from OR.
• Monitor quality of care per professional standards.
