Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Surgical Technologist First Assist to support the surgical team in the operating room. Under physician direction, you will safeguard the sterile field, handle instruments, and assist the surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, and closure during procedures.

You will communicate with the circulator, charge nurse, anesthesia, and other departments to maintain patient safety and workflow.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology First Assist Program.
• Current CPR certification; Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team and ensure patient safety during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and manage instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with circulator, nurse, surgeon, anesthesia and staff.
• Follow hospital policies and assist with intraoperative tasks as directed.
