Job summary

Stryker in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to reprocess and manage surgical instrumentation per IFU, HSPA/AAMI standards, and hospital policy. You will work with SPD staff to ensure timely, compliant reprocessing of Stryker and hospital-owned instruments.

Responsibilities include decontaminating, assembling, testing, maintaining instrument lists, and coordinating with SPD/OR leadership. Role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, long standing, and travel for coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent certifications.
• CRCST certification within 6 months for Sterile Processing roles; renewed annually.
• Knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and assemble rigid scopes, cameras, cords, and power instrumentation.
• Perform inline function testing (leak, sharpness, insulation, power checks).
• Wrap and containerize sets for sterilization per IFU.
• Maintain and update instrument lists in collaboration with SPD leadership.
• Facilitate repairs, replacements, and instrument tracking per hospital protocols.
• Communicate with SPD and OR leaders regarding equipment readiness and improvements.
