Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a Surgical Equipment & Materials Specialist to manage evaluation, selection, purchasing, delivery, and inventory of equipment and supplies for patient-care and patient-support areas. You will monitor expenses, analyze inventory levels, and support cost-control initiatives while coordinating with multiple departments to resolve issues.

The role requires knowledge of inventory-control activities, automated systems, and the ability to develop customized reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials management, equipment management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two to three years of experience in materials management or equipment services.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, purchase, deliver, and inventory equipment and supplies for patient-care areas.
• Coordinate with nursing leadership, Materials Management, Facilities, Clinical Engineering, vendors to resolve equipment concerns including delays, shortages, and claims.
• Monitor expenses, analyze inventory levels, support cost-control initiatives, and develop reports on inventory usage.

Education
