Job summary

Capital Medical Group, an IPM/UHS subsidiary, seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support the Surgery ENT team onsite at 2300 M St NW, Washington, DC. The role provides clinical and administrative support to patients and providers in a busy ENT clinic.

You will perform patient prep, vital signs, injections, lab orders, and EMR documentation while delivering compassionate care and coordinating with physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification required.
• Certification and Registration as a Medical Assistant required.
• Minimum of one year Medical Assistant experience.
• Two to three years general patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and/or RNs with patient care and procedures.
• Takes and records histories, height, weight, and vital signs.
• Administers oral and injectable medications as prescribed.
• Explains tests and post‑op instructions to patients.
• Schedules radiology and laboratory appointments and documents results.
• Maintains clean clinical environment and inventory; supports EMR entries.
• Triages calls and directs to appropriate staff for decisions.
• Performs wound care and dressing changes under supervision.
