Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking a Professional Development Practitioner to lead education initiatives within the Surgery department. The role includes planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating staff education to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.

The PDP will support career growth, mentor staff, and promote lifelong learning while ensuring staff are clinically competent to perform independently across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current RN license in Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing needs assessments and formulate education plans based on data collected.
• Coordinate orientation processes and Education Action Plan for assigned areas with leadership.
• Actively participate in quality and safety initiatives and evaluate outcomes.
• Implement educational programs to enhance nursing competence using modern teaching methods.
• Develop evidence-based curricula per ANPD standards for diverse team members.
• Verify proficiency through observation at the point of care.
