Job summary

Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital is seeking a Professional Development Practitioner for Medical/Surgical to lead staff education and practice transitions. The role coordinates planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of learning outcomes across nursing teams, ensuring clinical competency and alignment with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, Florida RN license, and 3+ years in med/surg, with ongoing certification goals and involvement in quality and safety

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a BSN.
• Three years of related clinical experience in a Medical/Surgical setting.
• Active Florida RN license.
• National specialty certification must be obtained within two years of hire.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and develop educational plans.
• Coordinate orientation for assigned areas and monitor progress.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
• Implement programs to enhance nursing staff competence.
• Develop evidence-based curricula per ANPD standards.
• Assess proficiency through observation at the point of care.
• Collaborate with leadership to review orientee progress.
• Generate reports demonstrating impact of educational interventions.
