Job summary

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a temporary Dental Surgical Assistant for the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) to support a wide range of surgical procedures and first-hand patient care. You will work with faculty and residents, assist students, and handle x-ray functions, infection control, and instrument prep.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with potential overtime as patient care needs dictate; prior dental office experience and

Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience in dental office practices and procedures.
• BLS/CPR certification required at all times throughout employment.
• Current radiographer license required at all times throughout employment.
• Knowledge with multiple implant systems and dental instruments in a surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on assistance during a wide range of OMFS procedures.
• Work with faculty surgeons and residents and assist dental students.
• Perform x-ray functions and ensure infection control.
• Stock supplies and prepare and sterilize instruments.
