Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Glendale, WI is seeking a dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team.

As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will provide nursing care to stable patients, place IV catheters, perform physical exams, monitor fluids, troubleshoot pumps, and assist doctors throughout the perioperative process. Qualifications

• Must have WI CVT certification.
• Minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• A rotating on‑call schedule is required once training has been completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards and core values.
• Place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
• Perform physical exams; accurately assess heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, and respiration.
• Understand normal vital parameters and alert the doctor when abnormal.
• Set up and administer intravenous fluids; disconnect and reconnect patient safely.
• Administer subcutaneous fluids and troubleshoot IV fluid pumps as needed.
• Monitor patient response to therapy and signs of overload.
