Job summary

Tyson Eye is a fast growing, local company serving SWFL for over 45 years. We are seeking a Full Time Surgical Counselor to assist patients with pre-operative preparations and promote confidence in their medical care, ensuring a smooth surgical experience.

The role may be based out of the Cape Coral Office with regular travel to North Fort Myers, East Fort Myers, South Fort Myers and Naples locations.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written communication and telephone skills.
• Must be organized, reliable, dependable and with excellent attention to detail.
• Must have the utmost concern for deadlines with excellent follow-up skills.
• Exceptional producer, efficient and effective with a desire to generate maximum output.
• Excellent keyboarding and computer skills are required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Must hold valid driver's license and car insurance to drive company vehicles and travel on company time.
• College degree or equivalent work experience; Ophthalmology/Optical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• To be an effective liaison between the patient's insurance, surgeons, co-managing doctor, and primary care physician in all aspects of pre-operative preparations.
• Oversees all aspects of scheduling of surgical cases.
• Maintaining patient and facility confidentiality.
• Obtain information form patient such as demographic information and insurance coverage.
• Counsels the patient with estimated cost of surgical procedure.
• Educate the patient regarding lenses as applicable per surgeon's suggestions.
• Checks patient in the day of surgery.
• Comprehends and implements all aspects of surgical billing.
• Clerical tasks.
• Ability to drive/travel to all practice locations is required for this position.

Tyson Eye is a fast growing, local company that has been operating in SWFL for over 45 years! We are currently seeking an individual to join our surgical team as a Full Time Surgical Counselor. This role assists the patient with all aspects of pre-operative preparations in order to promote confidence in their medical care thereby making the surgical experience as smooth as possible.

This position may be based out of the Cape Coral Office with regular travel to our other locations in North Fort Myers, East Fort Myers, South Fort Myers and Naples.
