Job summary

Tyson Eye in Naples, FL seeks a Licensed Optician / Optical Consultant to fill prescriptions, fit lenses and frames, and train patients in lens care. The role involves adjusting eyewear and performing repairs across Bonita Springs or Marco Island locations.

The ideal candidate brings exceptional customer service, teamwork, and a willingness to learn. ABO certification is a plus, and continuing education is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• College degree in progress or equivalent work experience is acceptable.
• Experience in optical/medical environment and knowledge of medical terminology desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions accurately and appropriately.
• Fit and adapt lenses and frames; train patients in lens care.
• Adjust eyewear to fit patients and perform optical repairs.
• Communicate charges clearly and explain eyewear options to patients.

Job description

We are looking for a Licensed Optician / Optical Consultant who can support our practice by accurately and appropriately filling ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions, fitting and adapting lenses and frames, and training the patient in the care of their lenses. They should also be able to adjust eyewear to fit the patient, and conduct all optical repairs. This position could work in our Bonita Springs or Marco Island locations.

Education And Job Experience Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
• College degree, in the process of achieving a degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in an optical/ medical environment and knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
• ABO a plus or working toward the ABO preferred.
• Willing to participate in continuing education in the optical field for the duration of employment.
