Job summary

US Eye in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to manage scheduling for eye surgeries, pre/post-op coordination, and patient education on premium lenses. You will work with our financial team to obtain authorizations and explain patient financial responsibilities. Travel between AEC locations is required as needed.

The role emphasizes concierge service, accurate scheduling, and clear communication with patients and clinicians to ensure a smooth surgical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Prior experience in customer service.
• Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a concierge level of customer service for our surgical patients.
• Educate patients on lens options, procedures, and pricing based on physician recommendations.
• Coordinate insurance authorizations with the financial team and collect patient financial responsibilities.
• Assist patients with setting up payment plans and collecting co-pays, co-insurances, and deposits.
• Stay in constant communication with patients regarding insurance or scheduling updates.
• Schedule ASC surgeries, preoperative, and postoperative appointments per physician protocols.
• Coordinate all financial and scheduling paperwork prior to surgery.
