Cedars-Sinai is seeking a qualified coder II to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients across services, ensuring accurate modifiers for optimal reimbursement and high data quality. You will work under the Coding Supervisor and align with Official Coding Guidelines.

Requirements include CPC certification, 2+ years of surgical coding experience, and a HS diploma. Familiarity with multi-specialty coding and ongoing seminars are expected.

Formación

• Certification CPC is required.
• COSC certification preferred.
• CIRCC certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing ICD-10 and CPT code assignments in a health care setting.

Responsabilidades

• Performs accurate and timely coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers).
• Maintains familiarity with coding regulations, Medicare rules, same-day visits vs. referrals, and surgeries.
• Understands and implements coding guidelines for multi-specialty practices and complex surgical coding.
• Attends seminars/workshops for updates on new coding rules and regulations.
• Elevates issues to Coding Supervisor and Manager as needed.
• Meets productivity and quality standards as designated by Coding Supervisor and Manager.
• Understands coding trends including NCD, LCD, and CMS guidelines.
• Identifies trends and issues with division and physician coding practices and presents solutions.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
• Follows policies and procedures pertinent to coding and compliance departments.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

Certified Orthopaedic Surgery Coder (COSC)

CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder)

High school diploma or GED
