Job summary

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of coding experience required, two (2) years in a Surgical/Ancillary Diagnostic discipline or 1 year with specialty coding certification in a Surgical/Ancillary Diagnostic discipline.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding conventions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician services and interprets physician documentation, CPT and diagnosis coding, coding claim edits and coding denial management.
• Evaluates medical record documentation, coding to optimize reimbursement and ensures codes reflect the visit.
• Queries physicians when documentation is inadequate or unclear and guides them to submit corrected documentation.
