Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Surgical Care department. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate multi-disciplinary care, and carry out physician orders while communicating patient status to the team.

The role requires an RN license in Kentucky, an associate degree or diploma in nursing at hire, and a bachelor’s degree within five years. BLS certification is required within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in nursing required at hire; bachelor's degree within 5 years of employment.
• Active Kentucky RN license upon hire; BLS certification required within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Coordinates care as primary liaison among disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders; communicates patient condition to team.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Educates patient/family based on age, culture, and readiness to learn.
