Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Pathology Assistant required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 0-1 years of technical experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, supervision, and mentorship to residents, fellows, and students in surgical pathology, autopsy, biobanking, and related areas.
• Engage residents and students in case preparation, conferences, teaching sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in autopsy procedures including authorization, chart review, and coordination of special techniques (immunopathology, electron microscopy).
• Participate in post-mortem prosection and dissection, specimen collection for analyses, and preparation for histologic processing.
• Prepare surgical pathology specimens with proper accessioning and submission for histology.
• Obtain and submit specimens for ancillary procedures such as immunostaining and flow cytometry.
• Photograph relevant specimens and serve as liaison between lab staff and physicians to maintain quality service.
• Participate in quality assurance and safety monitoring within Pathology.
