Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center (PHSC), seeks an Authorization Specialist to join our Glen Mills office. This is a full-time on-site role supporting surgical scheduling with emphasis on pre-authorization, eligibility verification, and cost estimation.

The ideal candidate has healthcare experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with payers and HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare required.
• Experience in referrals/authorizations, front office, and/or charge posting preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation.
• Working knowledge of eligibility, verification of benefits, and prior authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor authorizations for upcoming surgical cases and ensure timely approvals.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility, including coordination of benefits.
• Complete surgical cost analysis forms for pre-service collection.
• Verify benefits on all Visco injections.
• Document authorizations in the patient chart and update case management.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and staff.
• Assist with STAT authorizations for surgery schedulers.
