Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Surgical Support Attendant to assist the nursing team with direct patient care under the RN/LPN supervision. The role includes transporting patients between rooms and services, helping keep the unit clean and orderly, and supporting a safe, efficient workflow on busy shifts.
Candidates should communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, adapt to rapid changes, and maintain composure under stress.
The Surgical Support Attendant works under the direction of the RN/Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, transporting patients, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the unit. The Attendant demonstrates the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, to set and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Previous patient care experience preferred.
Ability to communicate in English with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to work under stress. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
