Surgical Assistant - St. Mary's Hospital

Weekday nights - Monday - Thursday 8:00 pm - 6:30 am, no weekend or call requirements

Sign-on bonus: $5,000 for new graduates and $7,500 for candidates with at least one year of experience. Rules & restrictions apply. Internal BSMH associates are not eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in providing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The team member functions in the assistant role during procedures under the supervision of the MD, performing duties such as providing exposure, assisting with hemostasis, skin closure, robotic surgery, and other technical tasks. The role also includes supporting the department and hospital's mission and goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED
• Three (3) years of experience and/or completion of a Surgical Assistant program
• Current CPR certification
• Registered with the Virginia Board of Medicine. Registration is required for new employees certified or trained in the military.
