Job summary

Flagship Specialty Partners is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our operating team in Asheville, NC. You will perform patient care activities as a surgical team member, take and develop x-ray films, and assist with sterilization and handling of supplies, instruments, and equipment.

Responsibilities include supporting safety, following approved policies, documenting patient care, preparing rooms, and assisting doctors with procedures such as extractions, implants, and bone grafts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Oral and Maxillofacial surgery experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities as a member of the surgical team.
• Takes and develops x‑ray films.
• cleans, packages, sterilizes, and stores supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Assists doctors with surgical procedures (extractions, implants, bone grafts, etc.).
• Prepares patient and room set‑up for procedures/exams.
• Documents patient care records and other forms according to Practice policy.
• Communicates information about the patient’s status to others responsible for patient care.
