Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC seeks a Surgical First Assistant to support the operating room team. You will assist the surgeon with wound exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and other technical functions during procedures, and scrub in to care for the patient before, during, and after surgery.

Qualified candidates will have completed an approved surgical technology program, hold CFA/CSA certification with current BLS, and have at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program or AS in Surgical Technology/Applied Science.
• Certified First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant with current BLS certification.
• One year of CFA/CSA experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assisting the surgeon with wound exposure, hemostasis, suturing and other technical functions.
• Scrub and care for the patient before, during and after surgical intervention as part of the perioperative team.
