Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Assistant Program is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification preferred on hire.
• Certification as CSA or eligible is required/preferred depending on location.
• One year healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving.
• Assist with OR case preparation and maintain sterile field.
• Communicate with circulating nurse regarding equipment and sterility.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping.
• May assist in closing wounds and applying dressings.
